The Last Supper, Cochon

It was no surprise that Cochon knocked my socks off.  Chef and owner Donald Link opened Herbsaint Restaurant in the Warehouse District in 2000 which quickly gained the reputation as the best restaurant in New Orleans.  In 2006 he opened Cochon in the Art District perfecting traditional Cajun & Southern cuisine with a focus on local ingredients as well as an in-house “Boucherie” producing smoked bacon, andouille, and boudin.

NOTHING was disappointing- food, wine, service, and present company.

We started with grit cakes with roasted mushrooms in a pork reduction topped with the perfect poached egg.

Followed by roasted oysters and their famous oyster b.l.t and eggplant shrimp dressing.
