Dara and I are both big fans of Market Table off Bleecker Street and when she mentioned it the three of us quickly agreed. Something about their big windows and rustic decor… and of course the food!
I remember having the best cauliflower of my life from here years back!
We grabbed a table after a short wait at the bar and before you know it the chef was sending out free goodies!
Why? We have no idea!
And so naughty!
We were totally behaving with our falafels and salads and they bring out French toast & buttermilk biscuits to start!
The brioche French toast was exquisite with toasted almonds and raspberry & blackberry coulis. After brunch we made a quick stop at E’s and of my favorite New York spots, V-bar on Sullivan, for iced coffee before heading to Washington Square Park.
The day was just too good to be indoors!
We grabbed a spot, busted out the cards and excitement grew fast.
Speed was the game of choice and we all made our rounds.
Steph wasn’t in her rhythm and decided to hide her shame as Blanket Head while Dara and I went to battle at Speed.
After cards we grabbed D’s iPhone and round 2 of silliness began.
Are y’all familiar with Heads Up? The app?
It’s fantastic and I highly recommend grabbing a group of friends and playing NOW.
Here’s what I’m talking about-
We met Molly’s new beau and Sarah came by and we all toasted to being in NYC together.
Of all the land we’ve crossed together, to have my Miami, Buenos Aires, New Orleans, New York people together, it’s just so damn good I get goosebumps just reminiscing about it all!
Man I need these moments more often.
The amount of love and happiness was just explosive and my cheeks and stomach were so sore from the days of endless laughter and smiles. I had zero voice by the end of the trip.
I said my goodbye’s to Steph before she jumped on the train and Dara and I scooped up E and Noey and we headed to Brooklyn for a Burning Man party under the bridge.
Walking in I said, ‘If there is one person I know at this party it will be Demetrius from culinary school.’ and sure enough I spotted him decked out in silver from head to toe with a crowd circling him while he showed off his dance moves.
He barely recognized me and when it all connected, he introduced me as ‘one of his friends from when he was a kid’ and I laughed so hard. When he was a kid?! That was like 5 years ago! Does that mean you’re an adult now?! So funny, Demetrius.
