You know Konex, where Bomba de Tiempo is held every Monday night. If not, go now.
So who is El Kuelgue?
El Kuelgue is an Argentine band of 7 members, all Argentinos, playing a mix of reggae, pop, swing, a touch of Cumbia, todo.
They’re the type of band that you must see live. They are very entertaining on stage and the saxophonist kills it.
Expect guests musicians to pop in and out, lots of brass, and keep an eye on the drummer, local celeb Nacho Martinez, bouncing from drums to percussion to the flute. Word is he was touring in Europe & South Africa this summer with a gypsy rock band and may have played with the boys of Gogol Bordello. (righteous)
The band played their first gig in mid 2004 and have just released their second album, Ruli, available on iTunes.
