What a delightful surprise on a corner in Almagro.
It’s called Damblee and the menu is dead sexy. Why? SEAFOOD, done properly.
My dining companion ordered us oysters on the half shell & Chardonnay. A delectable lunch. Two kinds of local oysters were sent out both tasting like the ocean with loads of lemon and hot sauce. My tall blonde friend told me she had tried their scallops and they did not disappoint. They also have frogs legs (!!) which made me tingle all over. Can I get some? By the dozen? I want to serve them at NOLA. That would be fun!
After 12 salty oyster slurps we moved to the bar to chat with the owner. He was charming. Originally from Uruguay and living in NYC for some time he is now in BA with two restaurants across the corner from each other. He knows the industry. Service was impeccable.
I hear the pastas are heavenly. I want everything. Especially more oysters & frogs legs.
